One of the first movies that come to my mind when i think of revenge is Man on Fire. This movie is based on the true story of a very young girl who is kidnapped in Mexico City. Her bodyguard, who became quite close with, swore he would not rest until he has killed all who responsible for her kidnapping. Every mans throat he slits is his compassionate act of revenge in hopes of bringing the little girl home.
This movie is completely based on the act of compassionate revenge and would not even be remotely similar without the bodyguard’s indestructible will. if he had not taken steps of revenge he did the movie would not have any hope. The plot would have ended in the cruel, cold blooded murder of the little girl. Sometimes revenge isn’t for bad, but for good.
I am hoping Hamlet has the same intensity with a positive motive for revenge!
